CSF DSA Endorses Chris Bennett for Congress (CA-3)
Central Sierra Foothills DSA has endorsed Chris Bennett in the Democratic primary for California's 3rd Congressional District. The endorsement passed by a strong supermajority of voting members on April 26, 2026.
CA-3 covers our entire chapter footprint — Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, and Sierra counties — along with parts of Sacramento, Yuba, and the eastern Sierra. The seat is open in 2026.
Bennett completed our endorsement process and sat for a chapter-wide interview before the vote. Members responded to:
A shared political project. Bennett is a DSA member who got involved through Sacramento DSA's mutual aid work.
A platform that's ours. Medicare for All, public housing, a federal jobs guarantee, and breaking up corporate monopolies.
No corporate money. Bennett has pledged to refuse corporate PACs, federal and foreign-interest lobbyists (including AIPAC), and fossil fuel and health insurance money.
An organizing orientation. Bennett framed the campaign as long-term power-building — voting is the floor, not the ceiling.
The primary is Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Deflock: Fighting Mass Surveillance in Nevada County
The Nevada County Sheriff's Office operates a network of Flock Safety automated license plate readers — cameras that photograph every passing vehicle, log the data, and share it across a national network of law enforcement agencies. The system was installed and operates without meaningful public oversight.
Our Deflock campaign is organizing to change that. We're pulling the records, building public awareness, and working toward getting these cameras out of our county.
The campaign meets the 4th Thursday of every month. New folks welcome — bring questions, no background required.
